About the Role
Responsibilities include the following:
-Act as a primary point of contact for cloud related questions, technical expertise, and support problems for the Commonwealth of PA(COPA).
-Provide appropriate communications to COPA management, including rapid notification of issues that impact the enterprise cloud environment.
-Design and implement cloud architectures and cloud technologies that meet COPA’s technical, security, and business needs.
-Provide expert level guidance on IT issues relating to cloud technologies.
-Work with CoPA Delivery Center teams in defining cloud architecture, design and implementation plans for hosting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS workloads on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
-Work with COPA Security team to ensure cloud solutions meet all security policy requirements.
-Design cloud auditing solutions to increase security stance and minimize risk of data loss and protection.
-Assist with business continuity planning, which includes capacity planning, availability, and disaster recovery options available in the cloud.
-Provide incident resolution focusing on root cause analysis, prevention, and knowledge transfer.
-Create & maintain support documentation, architecture diagrams & communications.
-Manage escalations with cloud service providers and other vendors for a timely resolution of operational and design issues.
Requirements
The Enterprise Cloud Solution Architect will be responsible for overall design, implementation, configuration, testing, administration, and management of the Commonwealth of PA’s enterprise hybrid cloud environments.
-3-5 years of experience as a Solution Architect and/or Cloud Engineer with design, implementation, security, and standards/best practices in an enterprise hosting environment.
-Cloud Architecture experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services.
-Microsoft Azure Solution Architect and Administrator certifications
-Strong working knowledge of Azure and AWS
-High level knowledge of the Azure Enterprise Agreement that manages departments, accounts, and subscriptions, including cost management and billing solutions.
-Ability to work closely with multiple diverse agencies and anticipate their needs and exceed their expectations.
-Consistently demonstrate strong organizational, communication, project management, change management, and problem-solving skills.
-Strong knowledge of all cloud technologies and the ability to keep abreast and deep technical understanding of current and emerging technologies.
-Proven operational experience with large Enterprise environments.
-Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Skill Required:
